The Board of Directors of the Basma Foundation for Social Development held its annual meeting this Saturday at the organization’s headquarters in Rabat. The session marks the final organizational milestone ahead of the Foundation’s upcoming 6th General Assembly, aimed at reinforcing internal governance and organizational workflows.
The meeting opened with a recitation from the Holy Quran, followedby an address from Mustapha El Ferjani, President of the Basma Foundation. El Ferjani characterized the gathering as a vital periodicreview to evaluate the outcomes of programs implemented throughoutthe past year.
In his remarks, the President highlighted the Foundation’s success in embedding the values of “solidarity, sacrifice, giving, and partnership” into its operations. He stressed that these principles must remain a daily practice, particularly given the challenges posed by recentnatural disasters and crises in Morocco, during which the Foundationdemonstrated effective field mobilization alongside its partners.
Noureddine Binsbih, Vice-President and a founding member, provideda breakdown of the current board’s achievements during 2025. He described the year as transformative, citing three key pillars of progress:
Following a transparent and thorough debate, the Board unanimouslyapproved the 2025 administrative and financial reports. A substantialportion of the deliberations was also dedicated to the final logisticalarrangements for the 6th General Assembly, scheduled for January 24, 2026.
The Board concluded the meeting by reaffirming its commitment to the Royal Directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who places social work—particularly for populations in remote rural areas—at the heart of national development. Members pledged to continue theiractive role in supporting the Kingdom’s “Social State” pillars, ensuring inclusive growth across all regions of Morocco.
