The Basma Foundation for Social Development held an official ceremony on Sunday, December 14, 2025, at its headquarters in Rabat to launch the “Educational Grants Project.” This initiative is part of the “Rawad” program, which aims to support scientific research.
The event featured the signing of partnership agreements with the “Young Researchers Forum Association” and the “Yemeni-Moroccan Friendship Association.” In the presence of student beneficiaries and members of the partner associations, the meeting concluded with the distribution of symbolic checks to the scholarship recipients.
In his opening speech, Mr. Mustapha El Ferjani, President of the Basma Foundation, emphasized the vital role civil society plays in supporting university students across various levels. He highlighted the humanitarian and professional impact of these grants in securing students’ academic futures, actively combating university dropout rates, and empowering students to pursue their academic journeys.
For his part, Mr. Mohammed Ishaq, President of the Yemeni-Moroccan Friendship Association, praised this qualitative initiative by the Basma Foundation. He commended the special gesture to support student researchers from the Yemeni community living in Morocco, noting that the Kingdom of Morocco remains a distinguished scientific destination for Yemeni students.
In a related context, Mr. Badreddine Mounes, representing the Young Researchers Forum Association, lauded the importance of these grants in alleviating the financial burdens on students, particularly those in Master’s and Doctoral programs. He stressed that this support will serve as a strong incentive for them to advance in their research careers.
It is worth noting that this project is part of the “Rawad” program, which aims to provide financial and moral support to student researchers, while stimulating and improving the quality of scientific research, especially in the fields of social and solidarity economy and civil action.
