Thanks to God and the efforts of the Basma Foundation for Social Development, with the support of its partners and within the framework of the Sanad programme, the residents of the village of Amlil, in the commune of Agbar, in the province of Al Hoceima, have been provided with electricity through the installation of solar panels.
The residential village, which began providing services to residents in November 2024, was designed to meet the multiple needs of affected families and consists of:
• 49 prefabricated houses (ready) providing safe and comfortable shelter.
• Integrated sanitary facilities including bathrooms.
• Two community centres to strengthen community ties and provide spaces for interaction and activities.
• An educational infrastructure comprising two classrooms and two teachers’ residences with bathrooms, to ensure the continuity of the educational process.
To ensure the economic and social revitalisation of the population, the project also includes other vital components:
• A vocational sewing centre, which will begin operations in early July, aims to provide training and vocational qualifications and empower women and girls economically.
• Accommodation for the centre’s supervisors, to ensure the effective and continuous management of development initiatives.
The integration of solar energy as the main source of electricity in the project reflects Basma Foundation’s commitment to innovative and environmentally sustainable solutions, ensuring the continuity of energy supply, enhancing the quality of daily life for residents, and supporting comprehensive development efforts in the region.
