Under the theme “Empowerment and Sustainability,” the Basma Foundation for Social Development has officially launched the fourth edition of its “Sanabil” program for income-generating projects during an inaugural ceremony hosting partner associations and project beneficiaries.
In his opening address, the President of the Foundation affirmed that the success of this edition builds directly upon the achievements of previous cycles, made possible through the commitment of partner associations and the rigorous selection of project leaders who demonstrate the capacity to grow their ventures despite challenging circumstances.
He further emphasized the program’s overarching developmental vision: fostering sustainable solidarity and economic empowerment to safeguard family dignity, transitioning beneficiaries from aid dependency toward a culture of production and self-reliance.
Outstanding Track Record and Rigorous Selection
During the event, Project Coordinator Ms. Fatima-Zahra Belghiti Hassanipresented a comprehensive report detailing past achievements and the multi-stage evaluation process used to select candidates.
She highlighted key figures from the previous edition (Sanabil 3), which successfully funded 37 projects benefiting 185 individuals in collaboration with three local partner associations:
The presentation also showcased the diverse range of funded sectors—spanning agriculture & livestock, trade, services & maintenance, and food industries—which achieved a 95% rate of permanent financial independence, ensuring sustainable livelihoods and dignity for participating families.

The fourth edition (Sanabil 4) introduces an enhanced framework focused on long-term impact and scalability. This cycle specifically prioritizes existing projects seeking expansion, selected through comprehensive feasibility studies that balance candidate eligibility with growth potential and sustainable revenue generation.
