In Partnership with the Local Fabric: Basma Foundation Evaluates and Develops the “Sanad” Program Results

In a move reflecting its commitment to field leadership and institutionaltransparency, the Basma Foundation for Social Development organized a strategic workshop at its headquarters in Rabat to evaluate its relief interventions. This meeting, part of the “Irteqa” training program, served as a platform for expertise-building and sharing lessons learned to ensure a smarterand more effective response in the future.

🎙️ Leadership Vision: Excellence in Smart Response

During his opening speech, Mr. Mostafa El-Farjani, President of the Basma Foundation for Social Development, emphasized the foundation’s relief philosophy, highlighting the following strategic pillars:

Field Integration: Strengthening the role of the associative fabric as a strategic partner in crisis management and reaching the furthestgeographical points.
Smart Response: Maintaining a precise balance between “speed of decision-making” and “field execution accuracy” to ensure the highestlevels of impact.
Sustainability: Transforming relief work from a momentary intervention into a sustainable and organized system based on accumulated knowledgeand documented expertise.

📈 The “Sanad” Program: Numbers Telling a Story of Human Impact

The “Kamathel Al-Jasad Al-Wahid” (Like One Body) campaign—part of the Sanad program—achieved exceptional success as the first relief initiative managed entirely and urgently via digital platforms. Over 25 days of continuouswork, donations were transformed into a lifeline for more than 4,000 beneficiaries in the West and North regions:

Securing Basic Needs: The foundation successfully provided 1,800 hot meals and 340 integrated food baskets, securing daily sustenance for hundreds of families trapped by floods.
Dignity and Warmth: A total of 570 blankets and 502 mattresses weredistributed, in addition to more than 40 large bags of clothing, providingprotection and warmth to affected families and preserving their dignity in the most difficult circumstances.

🛠️ Strategic Diagnosis and Future Recommendations

The workshop featured a high-quality interactive session led by international humanitarian expert Lahcen Azgouur, utilizing SWOT analysis to meticulouslydiagnose field performance. Discussions resulted in a set of strategicrecommendations aimed at:

1. Institutionalization: Unifying and coordinating various relief interventions under an organized umbrella to ensure rapid mobilization.
2. Qualification: Enhancing the efficiency of human resources throughtraining in the latest crisis management and field intervention techniques.
3. Financial Sustainability: Developing sustainable funding solutions (suchas an emergency fund) to provide the necessary resources for rapidintervention.
4. Governance: Strengthening transparency and rational resourcemanagement to bolster the trust of partners and donors.
